Somewhere Special: ROSA ET AL – A Dreamy Spot in Porto’s Cedofeita Neighbourhood

Somewhere Special: A Hidden Gem in Porto’s Creative Cedofeita Neighbourhood

Wandering through Cedofeita, it’s easy to be charmed by the mix of cafés, concept stores, and bistros tucked into its artistic streets. But ROSA ET AL truly stood out to me.

This beautifully converted townhouse has been thoughtfully renovated to house seven elegant suites, a garden, a restaurant, and a deli. I stumbled upon it by chance, and its stylish interior—with an eclectic edge—immediately drew me in.

The deli offers a broad selection of local wines and artisanal goods. As you're led through the space, you’ll discover a cosy restaurant that opens onto a peaceful garden. From there, you can catch glimpses of the chefs working in the townhouse’s basement kitchen—the soft clatter of pots and pans, the rhythm of skilled hands, and the low hum of conversation creating a gentle, inviting atmosphere.

I ordered a plum cake—which was absolutely delightful—along with poached eggs served with a local cheese and tzatziki. The space has a quiet, tranquil energy, and it’s clear the staff care deeply about what they do. Their passion is reflected in the attention to detail, the quality of the produce, and the thoughtful presentation. Yet nothing about it feels showy or pretentious—it’s a genuine, understated pursuit of elegance and excellence.

For all these reasons, it felt like somewhere truly special. I’d love to return and stay in one of their boutique suites—but that will be a treat for next time, on my next trip to Porto. I hope that if you find yourself in Porto, you’ll give ROSA ET AL a visit—and that it’s every bit as dreamy for you as it was for me. I’d love to hear your thoughts and any places you’d recommend for my next trip that felt special to you!
